Nr. 43 opens with a burst of Mediterranean brightness — Sicilian lemon sharp and almost saline in its freshness, blood orange adding a riper, darker citrus warmth with a faint bitterness beneath. Juniper berries thread through with a dry, piney, gin-like quality that sharpens the whole opening into something taut and precise. It is an opening with genuine character: clean but not quiet.
The heart introduces tension. Chili pepper arrives with a dry, prickling heat — not sweet or fruity, but genuinely spicy in a way that commands attention. French lavender softens the edges without dampening the fire; clary sage adds its distinctive nutty, herbal depth; geranium contributes a rosy, slightly metallic freshness that keeps the accord from closing in. The dry-down is earthy and grounding. Haitian vetiver — among the finest expressions of the material — arrives with a clean, slightly floral smokiness that is less raw than its Indonesian counterpart and more refined.
